Leather Jewelry Care
General Care
Your Nickel & Suede jewelry should be the last thing you put on when getting dressed. To preserve the longevity of our jewelry, we recommend removing it when washing your hands, showering, swimming, exercising, cleaning, and before applying any kind of hair care product, fragrance, lotion, or essential oils. Always put your jewelry on with clean hands and remember to wear your earring backs to prevent loss.
Care
Majority of our products have been treated with a protective sealant, however they can be damaged by moisture. The best method to clean our leather earrings is with a damp microfiber, lens, or soft cloth using water only – do not use cleaning agents. Please use extra caution with lighter color leathers as they can discolor if cleaned with excess water.
We do not recommend using abrasive materials such as a terry cloth, bath towels, or -t-shirts to clean our earrings. These materials are considered too abrasive and may damage the leather.
Please note, any oil including essential oils will discolor leathers and cannot be removed. We do not recommend cleaning your earrings with any oils.
Let earrings dry completely before storage.
Repair + Storage
If an earring becomes bent or curled, it can be flattened with a warm iron on its lowest setting. First, cover the earring with a cloth or towel. Then, lightly iron and steam the earring to flatten it while avoiding the earring hooks. Do not iron the earring hooks as they can lose their shape.
Please note, suede is more absorbent than traditional leather and can be easily damaged by liquids.
Leather can be damaged from moisture and sunlight. Please hang earrings or lay them flat in a clean, dry place.
Metal Jewelry Care
General Info
A majority of our earring components are 14k gold, 18k gold, sterling silver, or rhodium plated brass metal. Some other materials may include resin or enamel. Our jewelry is always nickel-free and lead-free.
If an ear hook loses its shape, gently reshape with your fingers.
Care
Sterling silver and gold-plated jewelry will naturally tarnish over time, and leather can accelerate the tarnishing process. If you notice any discoloration on our hooks, carefully wipe them with a jewelry polishing cloth.
Gold jewelry can be cleaned carefully with dish soap, ammonia glass cleaner, or even just hot water. As with silver, you can give it a good scrub when necessary, but be sure to use a soft toothbrush or other small brush designed specifically for jewelry.
Jewelry, while waterproof, is not resistant to chemicals found in chlorine pools, hot tubs, and various personal care products, which can damage or tarnish pieces. Even beach environments pose a risk of micro-scratches from the sand. To preserve the longevity of our jewelry, we recommend removing it when washing your hands, showering, swimming, exercising, cleaning, and before applying any kind of hair care product, fragrance, lotion or essential oils, and always rinse it with clean water and dry promptly when in doubt.
Storage
Keep your jewelry dry. Try not to store it in humid places, like the bathroom. Separate your jewelry by metal and type. Try a stackable jewelry organizer or something like drawer compartments to keep your pieces organized and separate. If you keep your jewelry out in the open, store it in a place with a consistent temperature.
Designate a special place for your go-to pieces so that they are easy to see and grab in a hurry! Store delicate jewelry in a dark and dry location. When in doubt, keep your jewelry clean and dry. Grab a premium leather jewelry case here.

Hats
Spot clean wool fedoras and straw hats with damp cloth.
Brush fedoras lightly with a lint brush.
To fix a dent or bend in your wool or straw hat, use a steamer for 30 - 60 seconds to restore your hat to its original shape. Wipe any excess moisture off the hat with a clean cloth. Leave on a flat surface to completely dry before wearing.
To prevent color fading, avoid long periods of sun exposure to your hats.
Candles
Caution: Failure to follow the instructions below could result in fire hazard, injury or smoke damage.
Keep wax free of matches, wick trimmings, or other flammable materials. Keep wick centered and trimmed 1/4" to prevent smoking and soot buildup on container or other items. Burn only on stable & heat-resistant surface for not more than 4 hours at a time. Keep out of drafts. Discontinue use when only 1/2" of wax remains in bottom. Do not move candle while burning or if wax is hot. Keep out of reach of kids & pets. Never leave candle unattended.
